"When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence."

Ansel Adams

"I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you...and I repent in dust and ashes."

The Pinkerton family visited us here in St. Louis. It was great fun to have them for a few days.

It was a chilly, gray day but we were still up for adventures.

We drove downtown to see the Arch of St. Louis, and had a look at the river too.

Some of us got shots of people...

 ...or of the Arch...

But Amos was determined to capture it all...and at an artistic angle, no less.

And here's our little group, minus William, the photographer, and Qorban. I don't actually know where Qorban is.

There he is! Down at the waterline, contemplating the Mighty Mississippi.

Qorban has started his first foods. Picking and choosing from all the mixes in convenient squeezable packets has been fun.

Despite appearances, Qorban is having fun too and is actually a very good eater. So far there doesn't seem to be anything he doesn't like.

Zadok on the natural world:

"Lions eat bees."

"Those bears have sharp hands!"

"There's a caterpillar living in the woods. It's going to come to our house and play with me!"

You must picture all of these being declaimed with great seriousness and conviction...and the most enormous brown eyes.
